Honestly, it was quite overwhelming when they first told me I was type 1. So many questions were going thru my mind. Was I going to be OK? How do I handle this change? Will it impact my music career? I needed answers. So along with my family we educated ourselves and learned that this is manageable. My family has been so supportive during this whole transition, learning about diabetes and how to make it work with the life I have.

I decided I was not going to let it slow me down. You can do the same. Something so life changing is never easy. You have to be positive, eat right and check your blood glucose level often.
Learning how to give myself insulin was also very important in my everyday understanding of my diabetes.

Most importantly it's reassuring to know you're not in it alone.

American Idol adds 4th judge

The producers of American Idol are shaking things up this coming American Idol Season 8 in January 2009. For the first time ever, American Idol is adding a permanent fourth judge! The 4th judge is songwriter Kara DioGuardi. Kara DioGuardi wrote some of Ashlee Simpson's "greatest hits." American Idol creator and executive producer Simon Fuller on why a 4th judge: "We are turning the heat up on 'Idol' this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges' table. She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America's most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show."

American Idol executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said, "We had originally intended for AMERICAN IDOL to have four judges. We've seen from our international series that having a fourth judge creates a dynamic that benefits both the contestants and the viewers."

As for Paula Abdul, Mike Darnell, President, Alternative Programming of FOX, added "For the past seven seasons, Paula has had to endure the experience of being the only woman at the judges' table. She's been as an island of consideration and gentle criticism between Randy and Simon, offering her invaluable expertise as a performer and No. 1 artist to the thousands who have competed on AMERICAN IDOL. With Kara by her side, Paula finally has some back-up and now there is going to be a lot more 'girl power' on the show."

Just wanted to update y'all about something kinda fun, I just received this photo of my first magazine cover, from the editor of Eliza Magazine! She said it was completely cool to put it up here on myspace before it releases as next month's Fall Issue. Eliza Magazine is a gorgeous magazine dedicated to modest high fashion as well as other interesting and relevant topics, I love it because it is SO classy. As you can imagine I was so excited when they asked me to be apart of the Fall Issue, I had a great experience on the shoot... the clothes were very fall-ish...lovely and feminine, the photographer (Angela Pierce) is amazing, and then I just recently caught up with Gretta for the interview while I've been on the road. Jonas Brothers album is Third Biggest Opener of 2008

Success just keeps rolling on for Joe, Kevin and Nick of the Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers have just landed the third-biggest opening week of 2008. The Jonas Brothers latest album, A Little Bit Longer sold a whopping 525,000 copies to debut at No. 1, one of three Jonas-powered joints in the top 10. The album actually sold 200, 000 copies on its first day of release. A Little Bit Longer trails only Lil Wayne's million-plus selling Tha Carter III and Coldplay's 721,000-copies sold Viva la Vida as the year's biggest debuts. The Jonas Brothers second album, released just over a year ago, inched its way back up the charts to No. 10, selling 31,000 copies.

And that's not all, the Jonas Brothers juiced Camp Rock soundtrack is at No. 8, selling another 50,000 copies. The Camp Rock soundtrack was released in June in connection with the Disney Channel original made for tv film, Camp Rock. The soundtrack is already the 10th best-selling album of the year, selling 861,000 copies to date.

Meanwhile, American Idol 2008 runner-up David Archuleta debut single "Crush" topped the Digital Tracks chart (Downloads chart) by selling 166,000 copies.

All 15 stars will share the stage to perform the song live on Sept. 5 during the "Stand Up to Cancer" television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS. Other stars expected to turn out for the hourlong fund- and awareness-raising program include Jennifer Aniston, Lance Armstrong, Katie Couric, Sally Field, Salma Hayek, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker and Reese Witherspoon.

Just Stand Up was conceived by Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds.

Founded in 2007, Stand Up to Cancer is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that calls on entertainment-industry people and platforms to help fight cancer.

But I've sort of done that before on stage. It's all old hat now, really."

Chris Brown is upset that a song he is collaborating with girlfriend Rihanna, Electric Guitar, for his third album, has leaked on the net. “I’m mad that it’s leaked,” he told The Associated Press in a recent interview. “The record’s not finished. It’s supposed to be me and Rihanna’s duet.”

This is not the first time they have collaborated though. Chris Brown appeared on a remix to Rihanna's smash hit “Umbrella” last year, and Chris Brown is listed as a co-writer on Rihanna's latest No. 1 hit,“Disturbia.”
